Well as sad as it is for me to inform all of you, this cycle will be the last cycle for Crimson Skies Combat Zone. With fewer and fewer members, and the lack of being able to keep admins it has been decided since there are no other running leagues that it's time for Combat Zone Leagues to come to an end. We have had a good run, and I hope that all of you that have been using CZ have enjoyed the use of the league over the years.
I have asked Jeff if possible that we keep the forum open for those of us that would like to use it to remain in contact with our friends within the league. I guess we all knew this time would come eventually, sadly that does not make it any easier for those of you still using the league and reporting battles. I hope you understand that Jeff has funded this operation without profit pretty much for its entire life and the rest of us including the present admins have volunteered our time to keep the league open as long as it has. I would like to thank Jeff for giving us the use of his software all this time, and the remaining admins for staying with us as long as they have, please if you run into them, be sure and thank them for their commitment.

Welcome to the Combat Zone's (CZ) Crimson Skies league. We are a community of Crimson Skies fans who enjoy friendly competition between our member clans (units).

CZ endeavors to provide a ladder-based ranking system that is enjoyable, intuitive, and user-friendly. The rules and scoring system are as 'natural' to the game as possible ( for example: the closer the match is in points, the closer the score that CZ awards the players). The 'bidding' system ensures that both sides can easily negotiate a fair and balanced match. The MOD (Match Of the Day) provides a fun, different scenario that awards extra points when played.

If you are not yet a member of the Xendra CZ league please use the [New Account] link at top of page to register yourself individually. After you confirm your registration by email you can use the [My Account] link to change your callsign and info. If you are a member of a unit here already you can use the [Units] menu to [Petition to Join Unit] and any officer of your unit can accept your petition. If you are starting a new unit then [Request a New Unit].

We hope you enjoy your time here in CZ.

Sad News

Today is a very sad day indeed. I regret to announce that earlier this Month Roach (former Main Admin) passed away on Wednesday May 3rd at age 49. Roach was one of Crimson Skies greatest members and I know he will be truly missed by all of us. I have set up a small dedication on my own website for him. There is also a guest book where we can all leave our respects. I hope you will all feel free to use this, as I stayed up almost all night creating it. I just added the links for everyone's ease.

The SAF teamspeak server we have been using has apparently gone out of business so the backup we have will become the primary SAF server.

Anyone with any suggestions for a Mod of the day or alt mod of the day? Let any admin know and/or let me know and we can change some of the older ones, would like to try to change at least one a night per week, just to keep things interesting.

The Admin Team will host MANY SUPRISE TOURNAMENTS at Game Spy. Please inform all your pilot friends and have them show up too! There is no set time or date, but it will be possible for pilots from all over the planet to participate! We will spend MUCH time online so that the tournies can be held at ANYTIME. So be prepared and ready to rumble!


Be prepared for fun in the skies! All rules will be posted and the tournament will begin as soon as enough pilots are present to hold it!

All changes are highlighted in red.

· Free for All (FFA) - In this combat battle scenario, it's every man (indiscriminately speaking) for himself. Even if two players are from the same team, they each get their individual team during reporting. Make sure to select "Free for All" during reporting for extra points. No more than two players from the same Unit may participate in an FFA. Minimum of 3 pilots for FFA and in case of a tie...all players will do a 5 minute overtime. and continue with overtimes until a winner is decided. (NOTE** 3 pilot FFA's are allowed as of 7-28-07. Please see note below for alteration of teams allowed for a 3-man FFA.)

Note: In the event played as an FFA scenario, no more the two members from the same unit may play. ALSO, in the event of a 3-man FFA, ALL Three pilots MUST be from different teams.

F. Definition of a "Reg" or "Regular" game is the standard settings that come up at the reporting screen. 2 Unit battle,Boeing field, Death match,hoplites off, turrets ON, customs on, one rocket type.
Any variations to this must be agreed upon by both teams before launching the game. (Note** As of 7-28-07, Turrets ARE allowed in a "Reg" or "Regular" match. All other rules for this type of match will remain the same.)

I have reenabled zep v zep as a battle option due to requests. Fly it if you want but if you have a dispute, I don't want to hear about it.

3-Strike Rule reinstated

In light of recent events the admin team is now re-implementing the "3-strikes and your out" policy. If any player is suspected to be cheating or manipulating the game in an inappropriate manner they will be susceptible to the following:

1st Strike - 50% of the individuals CZ points will be removed along with a 2 week ban

2nd Strike - 100% of the individuals CZ points will be removed along with a 1 cycle ban

3rd Strike - Lifetime ban from the league

A player can be "Suspected" of cheating if a number of complaints are received from longstanding and recognized members of the community.
